Gaku YASHIRO

Gaku Yashiro is a teacher at the school where the main character, Satoru Fujinuma, attends. He is a tall, thin man with black hair and glasses. He is a strict teacher, but he is also fair and caring. He is one of the few people who believes Satoru when he says that he can travel back in time. Gaku has a dark past. When he was younger, he was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a young girl. He was never caught, and he has lived with the guilt of what he did ever since. Gaku's past comes back to haunt him when he is targeted by a serial killer. The killer knows about Gaku's involvement in the hit-and-run accident, and he blackmails Gaku into helping him. Gaku is forced to use his time-travel ability to help the killer, but he eventually realizes that he cannot let the killer get away with his crimes. Gaku teams up with Satoru to stop the killer. They are successful, but Gaku is killed in the process. Gaku's death is a tragic loss, but his sacrifice helps to save many lives.
